About Budapest District I
The historical site in Buda on the western side, around the Castle, with buildings going back to the 17th century, most of them historical monuments. The district is dominated by an enormous hill with the castle and Matthias Church perched on top.

A hilly district in the northwest, including the famous 'Rose Hill', maybe the most chic residential area of Buda.

About Budapest District XII
District 12 is the largest residential area in the east of Buda, greenery and woods cover the Buda Hills, ideal for nature walks and tranquillity after the busy city centre. You can ski at Normafa, when there is some snow in the winter, and in summer it is a perfect location to relax and take in the view.

District 13 is in the north of Pest, and is a former industrial area.

This beautiful land, the centre of medieval Hungary, still has an abundance of historical artefacts and monuments.
About Lake Balaton
Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe with a surface area of nearly 600 km2 and is often nicknamed the "Hungarian Sea". High tourist season extends from June until the end of August. The average water temperature during the summer is 25° C, which makes bathing and swimming very enjoyable. Other tourist attractions include sailing, fishing and other water sports as well as visiting the countryside and hills; wineries on the north coast and night life on the south. The area is served by Fly Balaton International Airport, which has regular flights from across Europe, including Ryan Air from Stanstead - London.
About Rural Hungary
Other than Budapest and Lake Balaton, Hungary has 3 further regions. Eger-Tokaj Hilly Wine region is to the north-east for Budapest. Famous for its wines it contains 3 of Hungary’s 8 UNESCO world heritage sites. Puszta & Lake Tisza dominates the south and south-eastern half of Hungary and is predominantly farming lands and contains the vasy national parks of Hortobagy and Kiskunsag. Pannonoia takes up the entire western half og Hungary with a Balaton “hole” in its middle. The area is the most advanced of rural Hungary having many golf courses and spa resorts. The countryside is stunning with wine being the most popular crop and the towns offer medieval or baroque architecture often surrounding impressive castles.
